"Love?" she asks, and puts the cig aside.
That is not for me.
"You see, my heart was not designed to be loved." she sighs.
"I was born to swim through the void,
to breathe silently into the still seasons of betrayal."
"It escapes me, how you can let someone in, crawling within your flesh,
let all the darkness into their palms
while they sharpen their knives to make holes in your heart,
to see the light through your flesh."
"They aren't all like that." I say to her.
"Prove it," she drowns into my eyes,
"Make me forget."
